Description
POSITION SNAPSHOT:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to join our IT team. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems and infrastructure using exclusively Windows OS on physical servers and Nutanix HW, with networking experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Windows OS, Nutanix hardware, and networking, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Additionally, the candidate must be willing to be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation to handle off-hour issues.
DAY IN THE LIFE…
Design, implement, and maintain complex systems and infrastructure using exclusively Windows OS on physical servers and Nutanix HW, with networking experience.
Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to identify requirements and design solutions that meet business needs.
Ensure system and infrastructure security, stability, and scalability using industry best practices and standards.
Perform system and infrastructure troubleshooting and problem-solving to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
Monitor system and infrastructure performance and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and scalability.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in Windows OS, Nutanix hardware, and networking.
Experience with virtualization, networking, and storage technologies, as well as cloud-based solutions.
Knowledge of scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, etc.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation to handle off-hour issues.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, REQUIRED SKILLS
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in server administration and/or engineering
Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, with a focus on Windows OS, Nutanix HW, networking, and HCI.
Strong technical skills in systems design, implementation, and maintenance, with a focus on Windows OS, Nutanix HW, networking, and HCI.
Microsoft Azure IAAS and PAAS experience
Demonstrated experience with Server OS 2012R2, 2016, 2019 and 2022.
Demonstrated knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft HyperV 2012R2-2019 running Clustering and Replication.
Demonstrated knowledge of SFTP across different platforms.
Experience with virtualization, networking, and storage technologies, as well as cloud-based solutions.
Knowledge of scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell.
Demonstrated experience of Tier3 and Tier4 troubleshooting skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance.

8x8 (or other UCaaS) Phone systems
PDU/UPS knowledge and requirements
WiFi and Access point (Arista and Mist experience preferred) knowledge and troubleshooting
Dell VRTX experience or another similar blade knowledge
3 years of experience with Nutanix HW, AHS and HCI
Entertainment industry experience
